A set of four maple stands designed and fabricated for the Gendo Taiko Group. Taiko ("drum" in Japanese) ensemble performance is a form of entertainment commonly found at Japanese festivals and ceremonies. This style of drum stand is used in the performance of hachijo - a duet played using both heads of the taiko. Building off a typology of portable designs typically found in hachijo stands, the height of the elevated taiko is adjusted through a knotted synthetic rope.
